Video Highlights: 2015 Earth Hour Celebration

April 7, 2015

Bermuda recently played host to its seventh annual celebration of Earth Hour, with people coming from all over the island in order to show their commitment to the environment, enjoy live entertainment, and take part in a ‘Glow Walk.’

Ed Christopher served as the Master of Ceremonies, and the evening’s festivities included musical entertainment, dance performances and a range of speakers, with the featured activity being the 5K Glow Fun Walk and Run through the City of Hamilton during the “lights out” period from 8.30pm to 9.30pm.

Attendees then heard speeches from Greenrock Director Dr. Judith Landsberg, Will Cox from Waterfront Properties, Minister of Health, Seniors & Environment Jeanne Atherden, Shadow Minister of Immigration & External Affairs Walton Brown, and Earth Hour Council Chair Eugene Dean.

Mr. Dean, also a Greenrock member, previously said, “Our core focus this year is to involve the entire community. Sustainability is a global issue that we can address locally by involving the entire country one person or business at a time.

.

“Ultimately the purpose of the Earth Hour Campaign is to make a statement, raise awareness and encourage our leaders, business owners and the general public to commit to actions that help us create a more sustainable future.”
