PAC To Meet Again On Port Royal Golf Course
The Parliamentary Standing Committee on the Public Accounts will conduct a Public Hearing on Thursday, May 7 at 2.30pm in the Senate Chamber at the Cabinet Building.
A spokesperson said, “It is expected that the Standing Committee will deliberate on matters relating to the golf course renovations and facilities improvements work during the Port Royal Golf Course renovation project, as highlighted in the recent ‘Special Report of the Auditor General on the Port Royal Golf Course Improvements Capital Development Project’ dated October 2014.
“The Public Accounts Committee is comprised of Members of Parliament and is authorized by the House of Assembly to closely examine and report on matters relating to the accounts showing the appropriation of the sums granted by the Legislature to meet the public expenditure of Bermuda.
“The committee also investigates findings reported by the Auditor General in the Auditor’s Annual and other Special Reports.
“The current Chairman of the Committee is Mr. E. David G. Burt, JP, MP.
“Members of the public are invited to attend and observe the hearing to be held in the Senate Chamber at the Cabinet Building on 105 Front Street in Hamilton.”
Any chance we can get concrete answers as to what exactly will be done about the massive $$million over run on the port royal project this time, or will this just be another waste of time by the politicians that we pay?????
@ Kangoocar: According to da fella, “that’s the multi million dollars question” everyone needs answered
Well let us,(if you also believe there’s power in prayers) pray for a just conclusion to the unanswered questions reference to the unaccounted for millions of Bermudian Taxpayers dollars
But the PLP Greenies are making noise about some rubble from a wall and Financial Instructions not being followed and PORT ROYAL has millions of dollars in over runs without proper financial instructions…and not a word of apology or valid explanation!
How odd.
Funny how these meetings have such short notice. Seem to be scheduled with little notice. Unless the public are extremely flexible most would find it hard to attend. I didn’t hear any mention of a second related meeting being planned after the first one.
There is a method to Burt’s madness. At the end of the day we will not get the truth, sad but true.
When you name a golf course Port Royal , it must live up to great expectations ! PLP didn’t name it but the course now far exceeds expectations …. Did you see it on TNT ? Millions of people around the world ohh an ah..d over the spectacular sights .
Money well spent … Now move on people , let’s talk about the folks who feel entitled to remove perfectly government stone for personal use .
Just go to the well of the ” Golden Bucket” who needs to keep accounting records, when the well is empty, just look under the hood.
The Chairman is David Burt ??? Why ?? It should be an accounting firm as far away from the political arena as possible.
