St John Ambulance To Hold Tag Day On Friday
Leading Bermuda charity St John Ambulance set the stage today [June 24] for their annual Tag Day on Friday by meeting Governor George Ferguson at Government House, with the Governor purchasing the first
Chairman and St John Commander Justin Williams, said,”St John looks forward to a busy Tag Day this Friday, followed by a dedicated service at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity on Sunday [all are welcome], Awards and Prizegiving events, leading to a Change of Command Ceremony at Government House on Sunday where outgoing Commissioner Stephen Gunn will transfer the sword of command to incoming Commissioner Gareath Adderley.”
This afternoon the Governor George Ferguson, just back from sailing on the Spirit of Bermuda in the Marion to Bermuda Race, met Chairman and Commander Williams and St John Colour Sergeant Andrew Crumley at Government House to purchase the first tag for St John’s Tag Day.
St John’s Brigade members and students from Mount Saint Agnes Academy have volunteered their time to man tag stations at HSBC Bank Bermuda on Front Street, LOM, Market Place and other major institutions this Friday. 26th June.
Commander Williams said “We are grateful to HSBC Bank Bermuda, Clarien Bank, Lines Overseas Management, the Market Place and other major sponsors for supporting St John. St John look forward to providing ambulance and first aid support to the forthcoming America’s Cup events through 2017.”
St John Ambulance provides entirely voluntary Ambulance services to the community, as well as First Aid and CPR courses.
