Pan Ams: Smith Advances To Long Jump Final

July 22, 2015

Tyrone Smith advanced to the men’s Long Jump Finals of the Pan American Games in Toronto with a top leap of 7.72m on his second attempt in Group A. Smith recorded a foul on his first attempt before leaping the 7.72m, and he decided not to take the third jump knowing he had already sealed a place in the Final.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Marquise Goodwin won Group A with a top leap of 8.05m.

Following the competition Smith said, “It was all about making sure you get to the final, the wind was a little tricky I miss calculated on the first jump because I overstepped, but I backed it up a little on the second attempt and made sure I had a good one and then shut it down.”
