Visitors Injured In Paget Collision Recovering
The two visitors who were injured in a two-vehicle collision on July 2 on Harbour Road in Paget near Red Hole are reportedly recovering, with a 61-year-old man treated and discharged from hospital, while his 56-year-old wife is recovering in stable condition.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 1.20pm on Thursday, July 2, first responders attended a reported two vehicle collision on Harbour Road in Paget near Red Hole involving a rental cycle and a van.
“A visiting couple on the rental cycle was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Both vehicles involved were damaged.
“At last check, the 61-year-old man had been treated and discharged from the hospital while his wife, a 56-year-old woman, was recovering in stable condition on a general ward.
“A 54-year-old relative of the couple was riding another rental cycle behind them and stopped to help at the collision scene.
“However, after assisting his injured loved ones, he apparently fainted and was also taken via ambulance to the hospital as a precaution.”

And we still continue to rent out these “death-trap” mopeds to our visitors. It’s 2015 not 1982.
I am glad they are recovering well but they will forever be scared emotionally from that fright. I wish they would stop cycle rentals and come up with a viable solution for tourists to get around even the little golf cart looking motorized vehicles would be good for them. They can have a speed cap on them and they should be much safer while still offering independence.
