Video: Bermuda’s Team At Opening Ceremony
Bermuda’s team joined athletes from 28 other nations at the Opening Ceremony of the 2015 Parapan Am Games in Toronto last night [Aug 7], with Jessica Lewis, Steve Wilson, and Yushae DeSilva-Andrade set to test their athletic skills against some of the best in the world.
The 2015 Parapan Am Games will feature 1,608 athletes from 28 countries competing in 15 different sports and will run from this evening to Saturday, August 15.
Mr Wilson and Ms. DeSilva-Andrade will compete in the sport of boccia, while Ms Lewis will compete in wheelchair track racing.
Ms. DeSilva-Andrade was the official flag bearer for Bermuda at the opening ceremony, which she said was “absolutely awesome” as it is an “honour to represent my country and carry the flag.”
Congratulations to the representatives from Bermuda, Jessica Lewis, Steve Wilson, and Yushae DeSilva-Andrade. Remember u’lot, “you aren’t failures when you try and fail but one becomes a failure when they fail to try.” In our sights, you are all winners
