Man Charged With Violently Resisting Arrest

September 2, 2015

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Sept 2], 27-year-old  Cameron Ramsay was charged with violently resisting arrest earlier this month during a police intervention in Dockyard.

Both the Crown Prosecutor and Duty Counsel recommended that Magistrate Archie Warner should remand him into custody until he appeared at a Thursday Court hearing, citing his ability to plead. Mr Ramsey objected to this.

After hearing from both, the Magistrate ruled that there should be a trial and that the trial should take place tomorrow morning, Thursday 3rd September.

The Magistrate then remanded Mr Ramsey into overnight custody. Mr Ramsey objected and was removed from the dock.
