Simon Barrett: New Hamilton Underwriting CFO
Hamilton Underwriting Limited, the managing agency of Lloyd’s Syndicate 3334 and the Lloyd’s operations of Hamilton Insurance Group, announced today that Simon Barrett has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer.
Mr. Barrett reports to managing agency Chief Executive Officer Dermot O’Donohoe.

Mr. Barrett has over 20 years in the non-life insurance industry, including both Lloyd’s and Company markets. In addition to his financial expertise, he has extensive boardroom experience, management of strategic projects and oversight of an international finance network.
Mr. Barrett comes to Hamilton Underwriting Limited after 12 years with XL Group plc, where he was responsible for developing and communicating strategic and annual business plans, monitoring financial results against those plans, and providing advice and input on new business initiatives.
From 1999 to 2003, Mr. Barrett was CFO and finance partner to the CEO, Major Risks Division, at QBE Europe and Iron Trades UK Ltd. From 1986 to 2003, he worked in increasingly senior roles for a number of insurance, broker and accounting companies including, most recently, Sumitomo Marine and Fire Insurance Europe Ltd. and Nelson Hurst plc.
