CellOne Working To Restore Network Services
CellOne reports that “over 80%” of its network was online as of 9.00am this morning [Oct 5], with network teams working to restore service.
A post on the CellOne Facebook page says, “We hope everyone is safe and have weathered the storm without harm or damage. This will be the first of a series of network updates we’ll be providing. Over 80% of our network was up as of 9am this morning. Majority of issues are cell site power related.
“Key areas impacted are Knapton Hill/ Harrington Hundreds, Smiths; Kyber Pass, Southampton; Crawl Hill, Hamilton Parish; South & Point Finger Roads, Paget; and Port Royal, Southampton.
“Due to increased demand on the network, please expect quality of services to be degraded ie dropped calls and slow data speeds.
“We thank you for your patience while our network team works to restore service. Please note that until Tropical Storm winds subside, restoration of service at certain cell sites cannot be started.”
