Hunts: 10% Discount For Age Concern Members

October 22, 2015

In partnership with Age Concern Bermuda, local wholesaler, Hunts Food and Supplies is offering a 10% discount, seven days a week to registered Age Concern members.

Mrs. Claudette Fleming, Executive Director of Age Concern Bermuda explained, “Last year we paid out over $30,000 of hardship support for seniors in need of help with food, electricity and home repair costs.

“The current economic climate has been tough on many seniors and whether you are feeling the financial pain or not it is prudent to ensure that every dollar obtained is stretched as far as it can go.

“Our partnership with Hunts Food and Supplies just makes sense because as a wholesaler they afford customers the opportunity to buy in bulk and the week-long discounts means that seniors will save money seven days of the week, Monday through to Sunday.”

Mrs. Joy Hunt, General Manager of Hunts Food and Supplies, said: “As Bermudians ourselves, we know first-hand the financial challenges that seniors face living in an ever changing economy. Our customers are savvy and loyal; they appreciate value for their money.

“We are pleased to be able to give back to Age Concern and our senior customers in particular, so that they can have access to the products they need to maintain a reasonable quality of life during their retirement years.

“Healthy food is an essential part of healthy living and healthy ageing. At Hunts Food and Supplies Ltd. we want to do our part in contributing to the overall well-being of our seniors on the Island. We believe in Age Concern and want to assist them however we can.

“We have been listening to our members concerns regarding the costs of food and encourage them to take advantage of all the savings that Age Concern membership brings, ” added Ms. JoAnn Walker, Membership and Merchant Coordinator for Age Concern.

“We also welcome anyone over the age of 50 years old to join. 1. I heart 441 says:

    Well done Hunt’s!

  2. JUNK YARD DOG says:

The whole island would benefit if the Government’s wealthy politicians would tie the import duty and other fees / taxes to the state of the economy.

The Government can not keep looking to the people to bail them out, because that is unsustainable as many are out of work.
Our debt payments is back breaking our people , for capitol they could market ” bearer bonds” @ 7%.

Your majesty there is no bread? “let them eat cake” !

Frankly they are not doing enough to stimulate the people and the entire economy as things cost twice as much here as they are other countries,
make me wonder why offshore business goes elsewhere.

Do you know what double dip means eg : (1) Pay duty on you car/ scooter (2) Pay T.C.D. fees to keep the thing on the road.

Our potential visitors do not come here because they say Bermuda is too expensive.

What was the A C visitor head count ?

How about an “Economic Commission” the Government controls B.E.L.Co but not them selves.

Our roads are disgusting, that sends a wrong message to our visitors. M P hacking the Railway trail is a pointless exercise.
