December’s 2015 Klout Social Media Rankings

How can I raise my Klout score?

I get asked that a few times throughout the year, or sometimes it’s rephrased as “How can I game the system?”

Here are four tips to help raise your score:

  • 1. Link all your social media scores to Klout. This should be an obvious first step to start. If you’re not using a social media account very much it probably won’t matter if it is linked or not, but it never hurts to have it there.
  • 2. Share good content. Again, this seems like a no-brainer, but quality posts will make a difference in your Klout score even if you aren’t posting much. I Haven’t posted as much as I usually do lately, but I recently had one video that was shared 100 times and quality makes up for quantity.
  • 3. Share, but not too much. If you are that person who is spamming people’s networks with your posts or jumping in on everyone’s conversations, people can and will filter you out of your newsfeeds. This has the knock-on effect of lowering your engagement rate and lowering your score.
  • 4. Interact with others who have clout. Most people don’t have a Taylor Swift or Rihanna as our Facebook friend or Instagram buddy, but we all have someone who has a bigger network of connections. Interacting with these people and them interacting with you, will help boost your score.

Klout Bermuda Dec 2015

On the Bermuda front, the Top 10 saw a shake up as Bernews, PowerGirlTrina, Carla Zuill and Shari-Lynn Pringle all saw a rise in scores. Bernews’ score of 80, marks the first time Bermuda has four scores at that level at the same time. John Layfield [85], Bermuda Tourism [81] and Heather Nova [80] are the other three. PowerGirl [73] has seen a huge boost in her score over the past two months as she has embraced Twitter platform Periscope.

Both Carla and Shari-Lynn were regulars of the Top 10 and after a few months out of the Top 10 are back.

All scores were recorded on December 3 2015.

Klout attempts to quantify a person or business social media influence through a variety of platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, among others. The scores run from one to 100 with 40 being average.
