Motor Tanker Diverts To Bermuda Due To Injury

The 42172 GRT Motor Tanker Energy Conqueror visited Bermuda early this morning [Dec 11] in order to disembark a crew member that had suffered a severe cut to his hand and required medical attention.

A Bermuda Maritime Operations spokesperson said, “At 6.21pm on Thursday, December 10, the Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre was contacted by Meyer shipping agent to report that the 42172 GRT Motor Tanker ‘Energy Conqueror’ was inbound to Bermuda to disembark a crew member that had suffered a severe cut to his hand and was in need of medical assistance.

“The Isle of Man registered vessel, on route from Le Harve, France, to Port Arthur, Texas, U.S.A., diverted from its position 180 nm southwest of Bermuda to disembark the patient early Friday morning.

“At 0855 local time, Friday 11th December, the patient was successfully taken ashore via pilot boat St. George and transferred by ambulance to KEMH VII memorial hospital.”
