Tanker Diverts To Bermuda After Crew Injury

The LPG tanker M/V Libramont — which was traveling from Norway to Texas — diverted to Bermuda as 54-year-old Ukranian crew member suffered a serious hand injury and needed medical attention.

The Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre said, “Tuesday 29th September 2026, 9:20pm – Bermuda Maritime Operations Centre / RCC Bermuda received a satellite telephone call from the captain onboard the Marshall Island registered 25,994grt LPG tanker M/V Libramont reporting a crew member who had suffered a serious hand injury onboard, and wished to divert to Bermuda at best speed, to transfer the 2nd Engineer crew member.

“The vessel was on passage from Heroya, Norway and was bound for Texas City, USA. The vessel arrived offshore in Bermuda Waters on Wednesday 30th September at 9:00am, whereby the 54-year-old Ukranian Crew Member was safely transferred to Ordnance Island by the Pilot/Rescue Boat St David, and subsequently taken by ambulance to KEMH for medical treatment.”
