Photos: Store Hill Railway Trail Bridge Opening

The official opening of the Store Hill Railway Trail bridge took place on Saturday [Nov 28] with Premier Michael Dunkley getting assistance from a young lady for the ribbon cutting.

A spokesperson said, “The Friends of the Bermuda Railway group have already renovated several stretches of the railway trail in Hamilton Parish and this was the latest phase of the project which was completed in association with the Department of Parks.

“Present at the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new bridge were His Excellency Governor George Fergusson; Premier Michael Dunkley; Minister of Public Works Craig Cannonier; and Minister of Economic Development Grant Gibbons.”

    These guys are doing tremendous work and we should all be really grateful. It is fantastic that so many parts of the Railway Trail are being reconnected like this. It is a pleasure to walk along it.

    This bridge is fantastic! Hoping that the actual section between the bridge and police beach is tidied up. It has been in a pretty bad state since Gonzalo.

    Keep going with the bridges…lots of pylons ready to be utilised…be criss walking across flats inlet as u walk to Shelly Bay ….
