28-Year-Old Man In ICU After Collision In Paget

[Updated] A 28-year-old man is being treated in the ICU following a collision on Middle Road in Paget early this morning [Jan 1].

A police spokesperson said, “About 3:07am this morning [1-Jan-2016] police and EMT’s responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision on Middle Road near the Junction of Frith Farm Road in Paget.

“The full details are unclear at this time, however it is believed that a 28-year-old man riding an auxiliary cycle was travelling in an easterly direction when he collided with a wall.

” The man was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital where he is being treated in ICU for serious head injuries.

“Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this incident to call the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.”

Update Jan 2, 5.26pm: A police spokesperson said, “At last check [Saturday 2-Jan-2016] the 28 year-old male cyclist involved in a collision on Middle Road near the Junction of Frith Farm Road in Paget, which occurred around 3:07am on New Year’s Day, remains in ICU in critical but stable condition.”
