Court: Man Charged After High Speed Chase

February 22, 2016

Appearing in Magistrates Court today [Feb 22], Vincent Richardson — who early yesterday morning led police on a high speed chase which ended in the Store Hill area — was remanded in custody after pleading guilty to charges including dangerous driving.

The 34-year-old pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, willfully damaging traffic cones, and having no driver’s licence.

He also pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from alleged incidents in 2008 –for which he had failed to show up in Court –  which included stealing from Marketplace and violently resisting arrest.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo fined Mr Richardson for the offences he admitted, and set trial for the offences to which he pleaded not guilty.

Saying that the charge sheets showed that Mr Richardson was prone to not turning up for Court, the Magistrate ordered him to be remanded in custody.
