Photos/Video: Students Attend STEM Workshop
Thirty middle school-aged students from Bermuda High School [BHS] visited the Ascendant Group Training Centre on Tuesday, February 23 as part of the “Introduce a Girl to Engineering” workshop, where students were given a presentation by Stephanie Simons, Mechanical Engineer at iEPC Limited.
The presentation offered an introduction to engineering and related career paths, with the students also getting a first-hand look behind the scenes at BELCO, touring the East Power Station and BELCO’s state-of-the-art Operations Centre.

The workshop ended with the students building their own catapults and launching them as part of a hands-on engineering exercise.
Thirty more students have the opportunity to attend the workshop today [Feb 25].
