BHA: “Significant Uptick In Business” From AC
Bermuda’s hotels “experienced a significant uptick in business” from the America’s Cup World Series event, the Bermuda Hotel Association [BHA] said today.
The BHA said, “The recent release of the economic impact report for the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series included a few highlights that were particularly encouraging for Bermuda’s hotels.
“The October 2015 World Series was an exciting and well attended event that brought welcomed economic stimulus and media exposure to Bermuda.

“As a whole, Bermuda’s hotels experienced a significant uptick in business from the World Series event. When Bermuda experiences increased tourism activity during the shoulder months it is valued by the hotels, and the wider business community,” the BHA added.
“A comparison of the actual results to the initial projections showed how the event did much better than anticipated. In particular there was a larger than expected number of visitors who came to Bermuda for the World Series.
“The BHA are encouraged by the results that were achieved from the Louis Vuitton America’s Cup World Series which are a positive indication of the much anticipated impact the 2017 American’s Cup finals will have on Bermuda’s hotels and as well as the economy as a whole.”
“In addition to creating revenue for the hotels there is, of course, the wider impact to Bermuda as the visitors staying in our hotels also go out and enjoy all the things Bermuda has to offer,” commented BHA CEO Stephen Todd.
“It was also encouraging to see that many of the America’s Cup commercial partners chose to come to Bermuda to take part in the festivities. These are blue-chip companies that engaged in corporate hospitality at the America’s Cup while also promoting their brands. “
“In doing so, they exposed their clientele to Bermuda and help spread the positive message for Bermuda tourism,” concluded Mr Todd.
