Court: Man Admits Stealing Steak & Olive Oil
Appearing in Magistrates Court this morning [March 1], 72-year-old Oliver Caisey pleaded guilty to stealing olive oil and an Angus steak with a total value of $29.23 from Heron Bay Marketplace in February 2016.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo ordered a Social Inquiry Report, set sentencing for April, and set bail at $1,000.
The Magistrate was told by the Crown Prosecutor that Mr Caisey had been observed on CCTV as he put the items inside his jacket and then attempted to leave the store without paying for them. Shop staff accosted him and police were called.
