$10K Donated Toward Church Food Program
Global Atlantic Re Limited has donated $10,000 to the Hamilton Seventh Day Adventist Church’s Community Feeding Program, allowing the program to further its aim to “improve the quality of life for people in Bermuda.”
The Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church feeds the homeless and other people in need from the community weekly on Wednesday from 5.30pm to 6.30pm and on Sunday from 4.00pm to 5.00pm.
A spokesperson said, “While the church remains the primary sponsor of this program, it welcomes the opportunity to partner with the business community and others, who share our passion to improve the quality of life for people in Bermuda.
“Today, we express our sincere gratitude to April Galda, CEO of Global Atlantic Re Limited, for the generous donation of $10,000 to the Community Feeding Program.
“The program has operated for more than 30 years. Every week, some 140 plus persons leave with their hunger satisfied. A regular staff of 5-7 church members and 5-7 students from Bermuda Institute help with the program, to make a difference in the quality of life of people who are challenged by life circumstances. Community friends also help us to serve.
“The needs are greater than those met by the current operation of the program. The Business Community is invited to follow the example set by GA Re to contribute to this worthy cause, to serve the greater need in our community. All donations for this program will be received through our registered Charity [No. 110].
“Please contact program director, Marva Trott, and co-leader Rollin Nathan, via the offices of the Hamilton Seventh-day Adventist Church, at 292-4276, for further information. The Community Feeding Program operates from the Adventist Youth Center, located at 41 King Street, in Hamilton.”
Thank you Global Atlantic Re Limited!
Feeding the hungry is a wonderful thing
Would have preferred the donation to go to Salvation Army.
