Serjeant’s Cup Invite Set To Open On May 15

The Serjeant’s Cup Invite show is set to open at the Bermuda Arts Centre on May 15, with prizes to be awarded during the opening evening from 5.00pm to 7.00pm.

The awards will include the Serjeant’s Cup itself, along with cash prizes for the first three winners, as well as category prizes.

A spokesperson said, “A marine show with paintings, sculpture and photography make this exhibit that includes of all things of the sea. First Prize receives The Serjeant’s Cup, donated by St Peter’s Church and originally given to the St George’s church for their 400th anniversary, and Queen Elizabeth’s Jubilee in 2012 by the Serjeant of the Vestry of the Chapel Royal.”

“There is a cash prize for the first three winners and several category prizes as well.

“The show is open to amateur and professional artists in any media. As long as the work is of nautical nature, it will be showcased. It is intended to be a fun exhibit depicting the joy and appreciation of the sea.

“The Bermuda Arts Centre is honoured to partner with St. Peter’s, Their Majesties Chappell with this Marine Show. The Artists have kindly offered donations from the sale of their work to go towards St. Peter’s Organ Fund.”

The show runs until June 10, with the Arts Centre open for free admission every day from 10.00am to 5.00pm.
