Southampton Rangers, St. David’s Cricket Club, Bailey’s Bay and Devonshire Recreation Club all recorded victories in this weekend’s First and Premier Division cricket action.

Premier Division

Southampton Rangers Win by 121 Runs: Southampton Rangers 173 Western Stars 52

At the St. John’s Field, Western Stars won the toss and sent Southampton Rangers to bat, they were bowled out for 173 in 43.2 overs, Alex Dore was the top scorer with 64, while Raymond Butterfield was the leading wicket taker for Western Stars with figures of 10-0-41-3.

In reply Western Stars were bowled out for 52, Temiko Wilson was the top scorer with 13, while Vernon Eve returned figures of 7.4-3-6-6 and Janeiro Tucker bowled 5-5-0-2.

St. David’s Cricket Club Win by 135 Runs: St. David’s Cricket Club 236/9 Willow Cuts 101

On an emotional day at Lord’s in St. David’s, this being the first match that the St. David’s Cricket Club players have taken to the field since the tragic shooting death of their teammate Fiqre Crockwell, visitors Willow Cuts presented the family of Crockwell a plaque from the family of Willow Cuts.

Willow Cuts won the toss and sent St. David’s Cricket Club to bat, they scored 236/9 in their 50 overs, with Allan Douglas Jr the top scorer with 63, Micah Simons was the pick of the Willow Cuts bowlers with figures of 10-1-29-3.

In reply Willow Cuts were dismissed for 101, Simons was their top scorer with 25, while Delyone Borden returned bowling figures of 8-2-20-6 to lead the St. David’s Cricket Club to victory.

Bailey’s Bay Win by 7 Wickets: Cleveland County 222/8 Bailey’s Bay 228/3

At the Sea Breeze Oval, host Bailey’s Bay won the toss and sent guest Cleveland County into bat, they restricted them to 222/8 in their allotted 50 overs. Steven Bremar was the top scorer with 100 for Cleveland County who recovered from being 3-17, Zeiko Burgess led the Bailey’s Bay bowling attack with figures of 7-1-17-2.

In reply Pierre Smith scored 82 and Tre Manders added 58 as Bailey’s Bay scored 228/3 in 46.2 overs, Steven Douglas Jr was the pick of the Cleveland County bowlers with figures of 4.2-0-28-2.

First Division

Devonshire Recreation Club Win by 2 Wickets: Somerset Cricket Club 106 Devonshire Recreation Club 104/8

The Somerset Cricket Club experienced their first League defeat of the season as visiting Devonshire Recreation Club came away with a 2 wicket victory.

Somerset Cricket Club batted first and were bowled out for 103, Isaiah Richardson was their top scorer with 21 runs, while Kenny Philips led the Devonshire Recreation Club bowling attack returning figures of 7-1-14-3.

In reply the Devonshire Recreation Club scored 104/8, Oladapo Frederick was the top scorer with 20 runs, while the Somerset Cricket Club bowling attack was led by Joshua Gilbert who returned figures of 10-0-32-3.

Match Abandoned: PHC 114 Somerset Bridge 107/6

At White Hill Field the match was reduced to 37 overs due to a wet wicket, PHC batted first and were bowled out for 225 in 36.4 overs, Ellsworth Bean was the top scorer with 21.

In reply with Somerset Bridge on 107/6 after 34.5 overs the stand in umpires decided to put a halt to the game due to crowd concern, Clarence Trott was their top scorer with 29.
