The video’s narrator, Tucker Thompson, says, “The America’s Cup is 165 years old and it all began here in England with a yacht race around the Isle of Wight.
“Invitations went out for the Royal Yacht Squadron. Entrants accepted included the yacht America, captained by Commodore John Cox Stevens.
“A contest ensued around the Isle of Wight between British yachtsmen and the Americans.”
