BFA Audited Financial Statements Approved

October 19, 2016

The Bermuda Football Association [BFA] announced that its financial statements for the period ending April 30th, 2016 — as audited by Deloitte Limited — were recently approved by the BFA Congress consisting of all twenty-three full member Clubs during its Annual General Congress Meeting on 29th September 2016.

A spokesperson said, “The BFA is extremely pleased that Deloitte Limited was able to complete the audit process in time for the Audited Financial Reports to be presented and accepted by the Congress five months after the Association’s financial year end. Further, the BFA is immensely proud to have received a clean audit opinion from Deloitte Limited.

“The BFA thanks the Association’s full-time Secretariat staff, in particular, Financial Controller Gideon Kigotho as well as our elected Treasurer James Davis for their role in such a successful audit. The Association is overwhelmingly pleased, that for several years now, we have had our audited statements produced in such a short period of time.

“We recognize that as a large charitable organization, we are the beneficiary of Government grants; corporate support; gate revenue from the general public and registration fees from Affiliates and players alike.

“We are reassured that the Government, financial partners and people in general can have an extremely high level of confidence in our accounting and sound financial management of our operations. We thank everyone involved and look forward to continuing such high financial standards.

“The Executive Council of the BFA will now submit the audited statements to the Charities Commission and the Department of Youth & Sports in the Ministry of Social Development and Sports.”
