And whoever really believes this figure to be accurate is a blind OBA supporter, what you saying he never ate for two days

  2. Moonbeam says:

Minister Fahy is an honest man who has the best interests of Bermuda at heart ………………

  3. Vote for Me says:

Full transparency requires the total costs of airfare, accommodation, food and transportation to be disclosed. Any offsetting revenue that reduces the net cost to government should be shown separately.

Otherwise there are always questions about how the cost of a trip could either be so high or so low.

    • Jim says:

In this case, which we are talking about, who cares..the trip cost a total of $1081.05, which may be the cheapest trip ever taken by a government official..

Plane ticket, 2 nights accommodation, meals, and transportation…and no, he did not ride the bus LOL

      • RBEL says:

Please read carefully! Because this article states “An honourarium of $1,000 was provided to the Ministry for attendance which offset the cost of the airline ticket.”

So we don’t what his accommodation and ground transportation cost if it did. Maybe he has a house and car in Miami but we don’t know cause they didn’t say.

All we know is the airfare was $1, 081.05; first class ticket or last minute purchase!

    • Zevon says:

Even when it costs next to nothing you people complain.
Where were you when Paula Cox was flying around on taxpayer dollars attending ‘women’s conferences’ to receive awards?
Where were you when Ewart was flying to India? Or to the Middle East, staying in the world’s only 7 star hotel?
Where were you when Ewart spent $15,000 in limos on during one trip?
Oh no. I forgot. That was “different”.

  4. Triangle Drifter says:

That little junket to Florida to see some rocket blast off was how much? Just wondering.

    • mixitup says:

Less than the Brazil trip is my guess….

      • serengeti says:

Just a guess though isn’t it. because it was all a big secret in those days.

How much was Roban’s trip to the Paris Space Conference? We will never know, will we.

  5. Pastor Syl says:

It is very good news to learn that there were offsetting costs, but I have to agree that it would have been better to have seen the actual costs of the trip broken out.

  6. Wayne says:

Who the “H” does he think he is fooling!…and you people are just as gullible.

You show me ONE person who takes a trip and spends absolutely NO MONEY!

So Fahy went there to the summit for his breakfast, lunch and dinner?…he never ventured outside of the halls?…slept at the YMCA?

I see the AIRFARE was offset, but there is no mention of accommodations…where did he sleep?..in the summit lobby?

    More lies from the OBA

    • serengeti says:

You just hate it don’t you. A government minister travels without spending a penny of taxpayer money, and you hate to see it.

    • Enough says:

Oh give it break and get back to work instead of sitting on the wall and complaining at every little $. We need to focus on the radical misappropriation of funds for mega projects and not sweat this small stuff. Thousands of dollars wont help us as we need the millions to put a dent in our deficit so lets focus on that and stop with the BS around the petty cash drawer!

      Peace!
