Orange Ferry Route Suspended Due To Weather
Inclement weather ahead of the approach of Tropical Storm Nicole has lead the Orange ferry route to be suspended “until further notice.”
A spokesperson said, “Due to the inclement weather the Orange route ferry services have been suspended until further notice.”
The Bermuda Weather Service has issued a Tropical Storm Warning, in addition to the Hurricane Watch, and in their latest forecast this morning, said Tropical Storm Nicole’s closest point of approach to Bermuda within 72 hrs is forecast to be within 25nm of [or directly over] the Island at 8am on Thursday, Oct 13.
The NHC said maximum sustained winds remain near 60 mph [95 km/h] with higher gusts. “Some strengthening is forecast during the next 48 hours, and Nicole is expected to become a hurricane later tonight or Wednesday,” the NHC said.
