Partial Service On Bus Route 1 Established

October 19, 2016

[Updated] Following a temporary suspension due to damage from Hurricane Nicole, a partial bus service on Route 1 was established today by the Department of Public Transportation.

“Normal service is from Hamilton to the Town of St. George via South Road including Mid Ocean Club. But at this time DPT is not able to service Mid Ocean because of ongoing post-hurricane work,” a spokesperson said.

“Therefore the bus from Hamilton will turn left down Devil’s Hole Hill, turn right onto Harrington Sound Road and continue to St. George. The return trip from St. George will use the same route. The Public will be notified when service to Mid Ocean will resume.”

Update Oct 20, 4.43pm: A Government spokesperson said, “Bus service on Route 1 is fully restored today as of 5pm, the Department of Public Transportation has announced.

“Normal service is between Hamilton and the Town of St. George via South Road including Mid Ocean Club.”
