Live Video Replay: Cardboard Boat Challenge
The Institute of Bermuda Architects [IBA] and the Bermuda Association of Professional Engineers [BAPE] held the Cardboard Boat Challenge today [Nov 18] which involves students building, and racing, boats made out of cardboard.
The challenge is to create a boat that will carry team members across the length of the pool as fast as possible without falling into the water.
IBA President Krystal Rodrigues said, “The challenge is a hands-on way for students to learn about architecture, design and engineering. With BAPE, we want to get kids interested in design and engineering as potential career paths as well as providing a way for them to have fun.
Stephanie Simons, BAPE Committee Secretary and co-organizer, added, “The Cardboard Boat Challenge is an excellent opportunity for students to get a taste of what it’s like to be an engineer or architect.”
The event is still underway and we will update with the results as able, and in the meantime a 26-minute live video replay is below.
