Premier Attends Meetings & Forum In UK

Today’s Overseas Territories Joint Ministerial Council meetings were busy ones as the sessions formally kicked off in London earlier today [Nov. 1].

This morning the Premier, Michael Dunkley participated in a Parliamentary meeting between OT Leaders and Nick Hurd , Minister of State for Climate Change and Industry.

A meeting with the Foreign Affairs Select Committee to discuss matters of significance to the Territories also took place earlier today. This meeting was chaired by FAC Chairman Crispin Blunt.

Premier OT Meetings

The afternoon sessions included a JMC meeting on OT pension matters that was chaired by Richard Harrington MP, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Pensions, and a session on health chaired by Lord Prior of Brampton, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Health.

Premier Dunkley also held a bilateral with Baroness Anelay, Minister for the Overseas Territories today. This evening Baroness Anelay will host a formal dinner for Leaders of the Overseas Territories.

        The swizzle was strong that’s why I was smiling. It was an excellent networking event, and was attended by students and working professionals. I’ve made some new connections and caught up with old friends.
