Video: Q&A With AG Moniz & Minister Richards
Attorney-General Trevor Moniz and Minister of Social Development & Sports Sylvan Richards held a press conference to answer questions regarding issues in 2016 Throne Speech, touching on issues including age discrimination, decriminalization of cannabis, the Gaming Bill, roadside sobriety checks, amendments to the Liquor Licencing Act and more.
22-minute video of the press conference:
Can’t even take you seriously Sylvan. You spoke of yourself and your age demographics as the reason you are looking at age discrimination in the workplace. So I guess you should continue to push your own personal agenda. At any rate. I guess I should be thankful that the clock is ticking and the time left for me to have to listen to you or your UBP counterparts is coming to an end!
He is aware that his government will be a one term one. Of course he has to safeguard himself for when he returns to the workforce.
The discussion of cannabis needs to be handled by doctors not politicians who stumble on their words because they have no clue what cannabis is. To the effect of stoned/drug driving, the fact they don’t want to see cannabis here because of driving under the influence is naive. People who drive stoned now will continue to do so. Legal weed will not increase the amount of stoned drivers as they are already driving stoned.
What study did you do to come to that conclusion?
Study of common sense. In fact id put money on there being more people driving under the influence now because there are no checks in place to test for stoned driving. With legalisation comes more controls and regulations.
Determining the level of impairment is needed, not just the presence of metabolites of THC in the system, which is not an accurate indication of being impaired, since THC is detectable for at least a month after consumption. Legalization without education (of the legislators) leads to over regulation which is occurring in most places, ignorance leads to irrational fear of a benign substance that is a far safer alternative than the legal and (ironically) largely unregulated drugs we endorse, condone and profit from.
Clueless about cannabis, touting CBD, What a waste of oxygen, big pharma marketing agents.
I wish Mr. Richards would do a public Q&A about his trip to Brazil.
There should be penalties for govts who give $77 million of taxpayer money to billionaires and cut funding for seniors and education!!
