XL Appoints Keller As Chief Investment Officer
XL Group Ltd. announced that Andre Keller will become its Chief Investment Officer on January 1, 2017, following the retirement of Benji Meuli at the end of this year.
Mr. Keller is currently Head of Global Asset Positioning and a Managing Director. He will report to XL’s Chief Financial Officer Pete Porrino and will be based in New York City.
Mr. Keller has held a variety of leadership roles at XL Catlin and at global financial institutions. Prior to his current role he was Head of CIO Office and Deputy CIO at Catlin Group Ltd, and was head of Asset Management and Deputy CIO at Nationale Suisse, Basel. Additionally, Mr. Keller has held a number of senior asset management roles at Swiss Re.
Commenting on the CIO changes, Mr. Porrino said: “The fact that we are able to fill this role from within demonstrates the high quality of talent here at XL Catlin.
“Benji has been a valuable confidant to me and while we will certainly miss his astute advice and wish him all the best in his well-deserved retirement, we are pleased that Andre is willing and able to step into the CIO role.
“We are confident that with his extensive experience Andre will transition smoothly into the role and provide strategic investment insight and guidance to our Leadership Team.”
Mr. Keller has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Zurich University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland. He also holds Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst, Financial Risk Manager and Chartered Financial Analyst designations.
