Butterfield & Vallis Road Race On January 22
The Butterfield & Vallis 5k will be held on January 22, with the Bermuda Heart Foundation to be the recipient of the race proceeds as the race also serves to launch their Heart Month events in February.
The races kick off at 9.00am, with primary and middle school students running the 2.7k route and senior school students and adults running the 5k at 9.30am.
Walkers will start right behind the runners after a Jump 2B Fit demonstration.
$500 will be awarded to the Primary, Middle and Secondary schools with the most entries.
A spokesperson said, “Affiliated with the Mid Atlantic Athletic Club, the race is promoted and organized by Butterfield & Vallis and will be assisted on race day by volunteers from the Bermuda Heart Foundation. Entry forms are available at the Sportseller, at both Butterfield & Vallis locations and online at www.bv.bm. Online registrations are on www.racedayworld.com.
“Steven DeSilva and the Bermuda Timing team will once again be doing the chip timing. The main draw prizes are two pedal bikes from Winners’ Edge, Sportseller gift certificates and junior Fit Bits donated by BF&M.
“The first 900 participants will receive a t-shirt and goodie bag, while the first 900 finishers will receive a water bottle.”
Paper entries close on Wednesday, January 18 at 4.45pm, while online entries close at 5.00pm on Friday, January 20.
Late registration and number pick-up is on Saturday, January 21 between 10.00am and 2.00pm at Butterfield & Vallis on Woodlands Road; there will be no late registrations on race day
