Live Updates: Meetings Continue On Day #3
[Updating] The meetings are set to continue for the third day, with BIU President Chris Furbert calling a General Membership meeting of all BIU members for 9.00am today [Jan 5].
In a statement last night, the BIU said, “Please be advised that a General Membership meeting of all Bermuda Industrial Union members has been called by BIU President, Chris Furbert.
“The meeting is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. Thursday, January 5, 2017 at BIU Headquarters. All BIU members are urged to attend this very important meeting.”
The meetings began on Tuesday, and follow after it was announced that Rev Nicholas Tweed’s work permit would not be renewed. They have resulted in the cancellation of bus service, which is expected to also be impacted today.
