Minors Named ‘Athlete Of Week’ For 4th Time

For the fourth time this winter, Bermudian Dage Minors — who competes for the Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team — has been named Northeast-10 Conference Track Athlete of the Week.

The announcement said, “For the fourth time in eight weeks this winter, senior Dage Minors [Hamilton Parish, Bermuda] of the Franklin Pierce University men’s track & field team has been named Northeast-10 Conference Track Athlete of the Week, this time for the week ending on Feb. 12, as announced on Tuesday afternoon by the Conference office.

“It is the fifth time a Raven has taken home men’s Track Athlete of the Week honors from the NE10 this season. Minors is the only student-athlete in the league to earn the award more than once this year.

“Minors met the NCAA automatic qualifying mark in the 800 meters for the second time in three weeks, as he put together a time of 1:48.97 to win at the BU Valentine Invitational on Saturday. He added an NCAA provisional mark in the 400 meters, running a time of 48.67 seconds to finish 21st. The time met the NEICAAA qualifying mark as well, and moved Minors up to second in the NE10 on the season.”
