Bermuda Pacers Win 10 Medals At Invitational
The Bermuda Pacers Track Club concluded the 2026 Russell E. Blunt East Coast Invitational with 10 medals after winning six more on the final day of competition in North Carolina.
Xander Romeo won the Boys’ 13-14 discus with a personal best throw of 45.18 metres to earn the gold medal.
Raelyn Robinson claimed gold in the Girls’ 8 & Under long jump with a leap of 3.62 metres [11 feet, 10.5 inches].
In the Girls’ 9-10 long jump, Bree Simmons won silver with a jump of 3.89 metres [12 feet, 9.25 inches]. Brooke Simmons finished eighth, Diamond Morris was ninth and Giselle Reid-Rubaine placed 11th.
Theodore Smith finished fourth in the Boys’ 9-10 long jump with a best leap of 3.82 metres [12 feet, 6.5 inches].
Diamond Morris earned silver in the Girls’ 9-10 800 metres, recording a personal best time of 2:45.38.
Surii Russell won silver in the Men’s 17-18 800 metres with a personal best time of 1:58.50. Tobiah Goodchild also recorded a personal best, finishing eighth in 2:06.78.
In the sprint events, Robinson finished fifth in the Girls’ 8 & Under 100 metres final in 15.37, while Skye Furbert placed sixth in the Girls’ 9-10 final with a personal best 14.27.
Nico Simmons won silver in the Boys’ 9-10 100 metres in 13.26 and added a second silver in the 200 metres with a time of 27.79.
Jasmine Reid-Rubaine recorded a personal best of 12.71 to finish fifth in the Girls’ 13-14 100 metres. Amara Samuel posted personal bests in the Girls’ 15-16 100 metres [12.43] and 200 metres [25.31], finishing fourth and fifth, respectively.
Jadon Lightbourne finished fifth in the Boys’ 13-14 100 metres in 11.89, while Russell placed seventh in the Men’s 17-18 400 metres in 51.29.
Robinson also finished fourth in the Girls’ 8 & Under 200 metres in 32.57.
The Bermuda Pacers finished the meet with 10 medals, along with multiple personal bests and top-eight finishes.
