Earth Hour 2017 Set To Be Held On March 25th

February 18, 2017

Greenrock is inviting Bermuda to celebrate Earth Hour this year on Saturday, March 25th, to highlight the global challenges of environmental sustainability.

“You can participate by simply turning off all non-essential lights from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Saturday, March 25th,” the environmental organisation said.

“This action will partner you with millions of other people around the world in support of Earth Hour’s mission. This year’s theme is ‘Keeping up with Climate Change’.

“During that same evening, Greenrock will be celebrating with a free community event at City Hall, including a 5k Glow Fun Walk & Run throughout the streets of Hamilton.

“Greenrock encourages everyone to sign up for this fun, non-competitive activity, perfect for the whole family. Your registration will support Greenrock’s efforts to raise awareness about environmental issues throughout the year.

“We hope to increase the numbers from last year’s event, with a goal of at least 1,000 participants.

“During the day, Greenrock will also be holding a Living Green Expo from 9am to 6pm at City Hall. Are you interested in being a Greenrock volunteer for the Earth Hour?

“We need Road Marshalls for the 5K Glow Fun Walk & Run, to assist with traffic control and provide extra safety for participants. Do you have experience as a Road Marshall? Would you like to help make this year’s Earth Hour a success?

“Please contact info@greenrock.org to find out more and volunteer if you want to find out more about the 5K Glow Fun Walk & Run. Want to register for the Walk & Run. Visit here to register.”
