Motorcyclist Injured In Southampton Collision

[Updated] A female motorcyclist was injured in a collision this afternoon [Feb 25] on Middle Road in Southampton resulting in her being transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment to unknown injuries.

A police spokesperson said, “Around 2:45pm on Saturday, February 25th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported collision on Middle Road in Southampton near the junction with Lighthouse Road.

“Details remain limited at this time.

“However, it appears that a female motorcyclist was injured and taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment.

“The extent of her injuries is unknown at this time, but an update on her condition will be provided in due course.

“At last check traffic was being diverted on to South Road at the junction of Middle Road and Lighthouse Road as well as at the junction of Middle Road and Church Road.

“Inquiries continue and any witnesses should contact the main police telephone number 295-0011 with all relevant information.”

Update 6.25pm: A police spokesperson said, “The injured rider, believed to be a 19 year old Southampton woman, apparently sustained injuries to her legs which were not life threatening.

“Meanwhile the section of Middle Road, Southampton between Lighthouse Road and Church Road was re-opened to normal traffic flow at 4pm. Inquiries regarding this collision continue.”
