BFRS Extinguish Structural Fire In Sandys
The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a house fire located in Sandys this morning [March 29].
The BFRS said, “At approximately 10:57 am on Wednesday March 29th, the Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a single story dwelling involved in fire on #2 Pleasantville Lane, Sandys.
“The Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident with 2 fire appliances staffed with 8 personnel.”
Fire Service Spokesperson Delton White stated that “Once on scene the Fire Service observed smoke and flames visibly emitting from the premises.
“Firefighters dressed in breathing apparatus and equipped with a 1½” hose line made entry into the premises to extinguish the fire”. Once the fire was brought under control, ventilation was carried out while simultaneously conducting an internal search for any potential victims.
“The house sustained major smoke and heat damage while 2 rooms where severely damaged by the fire. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
