San Shou Team Competing In Barbados

Bermuda San Shou Team just finished up a training session in Miami and headed to Barbados for the 18th Annual Bridgetown Burning International Combat Games.

Sentwali Woolridge will headline the 18th Annual Bridgetown Burning International Combat Games against former World #3 Zack George of Canada taking place at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre on Saturday, 15th April.

They will compete in a best 2 out of 3 rounds san shou [san da] match at 75kg. He will be joined by teammates Reyel Bowen, Keanu Wilson, Krista Dyer and Chaquita Simmons in the event that will also feature Taekwondo, Olympic Wrestling, Sport Karate and Beach Wrestling.

Bowen will face Bajan Justin Taylor in the 85kg division while Wilson will take on four other Bajan athletes in a single elimination tournament.

Krista Dyer will take on Canadian Sara Buczek at 65kg and Chaquita Simmons will take on Canadians Dunio Blanco and Tina Wu in a round-robin in the same weight-class. Talia Iris was forced to withdraw from the competition after spraining her ankle during a training session a few weeks prior.

Bermuda Sanshou Association Technical Director Oscar Lightbourne arrived before the team to conduct a judging course and will be the Head Judge at the event. The coaches for the Bermuda team are Garon Wilkinson, Dueane Dill and Shannon Ford.
