St. George’s To Host “Historic Atlantic Triangle”
The St. George’s Foundation will be hosting “The Historic Atlantic Triangle: The Tripling of St. George’s, Bermuda with Lyme Regis, Dorset, England and Jamestown, Virginia, USA” on Tuesday, April 18.
Doors open at 6.00pm, with the presentation at 6.30pm at The World Heritage Centre at 19 Penno’s Wharf in St. George’s.
A spokesperson said, “The keynote speaker will be Dr. William Kelso, Director of Archaeology at Jamestown Rediscovery Foundation, presenting “Written in Stone & Bone: Finding Bermuda and Lyme Regis at Jamestown, Virginia”
“Further contributions will be from Dr. George Cook of The St. George’s Foundation and the Mayor of Lyme Regis, Owen Lovell, with a conclusion by Mayor of St. George, Quinell Francis.”
“This relationship is based upon the important historical ties binding together the three locations, arising from British colonisation of North America at Jamestown, Virginia, in 1607.”
Tickets are $25 for members and $30 for non-members with refreshments, including wine and beer, available on a donation basis. Parking is available at Tiger Bay at Penno’s Wharf.
