Police Confirm Death Of Brian Anderson

June 20, 2017

Marking the seventh road fatality of the year, the police confirmed the death of 63-year-old American visitor Brian Anderson, who died following a collision yesterday.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 63 year old Brian Anderson and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

“Mr. Anderson, an American visitor said to be from Arizona, was riding a rental cycle with his 11 year old granddaughter as pillion passenger along South Road in Devonshire around 5pm Monday when a collision occurred with a car being driven in the opposite direction near the junction with Brimstone Hill.

“CPR was performed on the seriously injured 63 year old visitor at the scene before he was rushed to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance. However, Mr. Anderson was later pronounced dead by an on call doctor.

“His 11 year old granddaughter also received hospital treatment for her injuries but she was later discharged.

“Mr. Anderson’s wife was riding on a separate rental cycle behind her husband and granddaughter at the time and was not involved in the collision.

“A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to support Mr. Anderson’s loved ones at this difficult time. Apparently the occupants of the car involved were not injured.

“The investigation into this fatal collision, the seventh for 2017, continues and any witnesses that have not already come forward are asked to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.”
