Police Confirm Death Of Kenneth Simmons

Marking the sixth road fatality of the year, the police confirmed the death of 46-year-old Kenneth Simmons, who died due to injuries sustained in a motorcycle collision on May 19th.

A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service can now confirm the death of 46-year-old Kenneth Simmons and extends sincere condolences to his family and friends.

“Mr. Simmons was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding collided with a truck around 11pm Friday, May 19th on Harrington Sound Road in Smith’s parish near Odyssey Drive.

“He was initially treated in the Intensive Care Unit at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital before being airlifted overseas for further medical treatment.

“However, Mr. Simmons ultimately succumbed to his injuries while in hospital in the U.S. and a Family Liaison Officer has now been appointed to assist his family at this difficult time.

“The investigation regarding the sixth road fatality for 2017 continues and witnesses that have not already come forward or persons with information that can further assist are still encouraged to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 247-1788.”
