    • sage says:

True, I wonder if the lyrics will just fly over peoples heads, reggae music is about the message. 96 degrees in the shade is a song about the Morant Bay rebellion and Paul Bogle the Jamaican National Hero who lead protests for equality and justice and was hanged in 1865 by the British who were trying to maintain control of Jamaica which became a Crown Colony in 1866, I can see all the billionaires dancing and singing along to that particular tune.
“Why does the rich man keep craving for more?” Third World, Freedom Song.

  2. Coffee says:

The main guy died . I don’t want to see them now . I’d like to remember them like when I saw them for the first time at BAA field in ’78 or ’79 .

I’ll pass on this one .

  3. Waste waste waste says:

Will these folks just doggone well stop wasting our money. Stop the spending. U r wasting our money. Ugh.

    • Mr. Observer says:

Trying to make up $$$ cause AC didn’t make the qouter, now they’re using black artists to draw the black crowd. SMFH

      • Kevin says:

its amazing how some people actually think . but here is something to chew on
this AC will be the single biggest contributer to our economy that this island will ever see and it will make millions …..lets see how did the EB music festival do ……guess its quite clear

      • Ummm what says:

Pardon? 1. Are you suggesting that black artists are subpar because thats racist. 2. Its been sold out for ages so explain how announcing an act after its sold out will draw crowds.

      • Onion Juice says:

        Mmmmmm
        Good observation.

      • Spectator says:

        hard to meet quoter inna…

      • Andrew says:

some people are never happy. Complaining because AC booking black artists. If they used White artists they would complain about that too. SMH

      • aceboy says:

        Nonsense.

        Absolute nonsense.

    • Zevon says:

Why do you care? It’s not your money.

Believe it or not, there is a world class event going on here right under your nose. You’re obviously too stupid to admit it.

      • Whimsical says:

How can you tell Mr. Observer it’s NOT his money…it’s TAXPAYERS MONEY that is hosting the event so therefore it is OUR money…..

        • Zevon says:

No it isn’t. You’re listening to Onion Juice too much.

      • Onion Juice says:

I thought it was Tax payers money.

    • wahoo says:

Maybe they found the $800M so money is no object. That is unlikely because the $800M is long gone but the hunt will go on so watch out. Tear all the pamphlets out of a candidates hands and threaten all you want the people want justice and everyday it becomes clear that the plp are desperate to get in so they can cover up some history.

    • Digger says:

Take a look around and look at the $$$ being spent by the super rich which will make this a money making event unlike the money wasted on a Beyonce concert. Just a reminder that the Bermuda Music Festival only put us deeper in debt. Also its the event organization that is bringing in these performers not the OBA

      • Onion Juice says:

Are they spending more then what we spent out?

        • wahoo says:

Yes, why didn’t you ask before? Is that all that has been bothering our little juicy wuicy?

    • Ummm what says:

Its americas cup money not bermudas silly…

  4. OBA Strategy says:

    Third World, take the money

And on stage tell the people to vote PLP!

  5. wahoo says:

That would be good but third world would need to tell people why and there is no good reason to vote plp.

  6. Upset voter says:

Of course its our money, the America’s Cup took $77 million and counting of tax payers money to be pulled off. What you thought they came here to be nice!? We had to pay them!!! Now lets see if it paid off!! We are stuck with the bills not them!!

    • ramblings says:

look what the PLP spent a year in advertising for Tourism with 0 result. AC has brought us value for money. Not only do we get the advertising but we get the tourists here at the same time..

    • wahoo says:

Any major sporting event is bid on by want to be host countries, it is because there is the expectation that the return on investment will be greater than the original investment. I think you need to get real figures before you throw that $77M around since I think it is less at the moment. Perhaps if you took the time to understand the rationale used you would understand it all a little better. I went to the Third World show and it was amazing, I don’t think I have been so well entertained in a long time and the bonus for me was to see locals and tourists alike all having a great time together it was a safe and happy place to be. Wish the results of the races had been different – that was a bummer.

Well if PLP get back in perhaps they will resurrect faith based tourism…that was a real winner wasn’t it? Beyoncé must have been a massive return on investment as well.

  7. ImJustSayin says:

I was the light engineer at the BAA show. I gotta go and see those guys again. They are a great fun bunch to be around.

    • Longtailtoo says:

It was an awesome show and they are the nicest guys you could ever meet.

  8. John says:

I dont normally comment but i feel like people need to know and read this so they can understand what it means and what im trying to pass on to them. I love reading people’s comments I just can’t help myself. It’s like an addiction. So in honor of those comments that I have read, I have decided to write my own comment. And it’s all for you. I hope you enjoy reading my comment as much as I have enjoyed writing it. It’s not an interesting comment, but I’m pretty certain you have read the comment up to this point, so you may as well just keep reading right down to the end. And also thank me for wasting your time cause this is very useless comment but you have managed to go through it all and now you probably wondering why did you read it all all because you saw that it all was senseless and had no theme,no passage and nothing interesting about it but for me it’s an honour that you have taken your time to read this all the way down…
