Chamber & BEDC To Host Creative Technology

Local entrepreneurs are invited to attend two live forums on creative technology with international innovator Peter Corbett on Wednesday, July 19.

The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce [BCC] has partnered with the U.S. Consulate General [USCG] and the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation [BEDC] to host a series of live events around entrepreneurship and creative technology.

A spokesperson said, “Founder and CEO of iStrategyLabs, Peter Corbett, will be available to offer advice to local entrepreneurs of all ages, kicking off his tour with a private session at BizCamp 2017. Young entrepreneurs aged 13 – 17 will have the chance to pitch their business ideas to Mr. Corbett and receive valuable tips on how to enhance and accomplish them.

“Peter will then travel to the INTO Bermuda HQ for a public workshop aimed at millennial entre-preneurs, which will also be broadcast on Facebook Live. This event, hosted by @Bermemes, will see Peter share his secrets to success in the Creative Technology industry.

“A final public session will follow from 5:30PM – 7:30PM at the residence of the U.S. Consul General. This is targeted toward those who are either interested in the creative industries, want to start a new business utilizing new technology, or have questions about what is required to take their business to the next level using technology.

“Come and dive into waters of entrepreneurship with Peter Corbett and find out how to build a company from scratch; Also learn about marketing that leverages social media, digital advertis-ing, internet connected devices, and media.”

Erica Smith, Executive Director for the Bermuda Economic Development Corporation said, “The BEDC works tirelessly to support the development of a vibrant local entrepreneurial ecosystem. Part of that process includes creating opportunities for our local entrepreneurs to benefit from international expertise.

“That is why we are thrilled to be partnering with the U.S. Consulate General and the Chamber to bring Peter to the Island and look forward to him sharing his experiences with our local entrepreneurs.”
