Photos & Video: “Back To School Extravaganza”
The Caines Brothers in conjunction with Michael Chamberlain’s Five Star Barbershop held their fifth annual “Back to School Extravaganza” today [Sept 7] at the Heritage Worship Centre Hall on Dundonald Street, offering complimentary haircuts for boys and complimentary hair braiding for girls.
The event also saw students receive free bags filled with school supplies, and motivational speakers throughout the day, as well as a DJ, games and more.
The theme for the Extravaganza this year was “Your Future Starts Now” which the organizers said, “is our way of empowering our students to believe nothing is impossible for them to achieve.”
.
The Caines Brothers said, “The Caines Brothers and Five Star Barbershop’s Back to School Extravaganza can only be classified as a resounding success with approximately 300 boys and 300 girls being served and over 1300 school bags and supplies distributed.
“We would like to thank the 15 volunteer barbers, the 20 hair stylists who braided hair and the 70 volunteers, who without their support and dedicated volunteer-ism, this day would not have been a success. The commitment shown by the hairstylists and barbers was incredible as many stayed the entire day.
