Bermuda’s Top 50 Twitter List For October 2017

Like it or not, all Twitter users will soon be able to use 280 characters instead of the 140 in their tweets.

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey announced on September 26 saying it is “solving a real problem people have when trying to tweet.”

The move has been a mixed bag as some tweeters have lamented that the beauty of Twitter was its brevity, forcing people to think concisely.

It will sorely make things more interesting for one of Twitter’s most famous users, American President Donald Trump, who will now have more room to infuriate his detractors and bring love to his die-hard supporters.

Locally, there was a big shakeup in the Bermuda Top 50 Twitter rankings as five accounts rejoined the list.

Christian author Cathy West, TV personality Jo-Anne Ball Burgess, journalist Emma Farge, radio DJ and Big Brothers Big Sisters managing director PowerGirl Trina, Jennie Doidge and Carlos Ferreira slotted in at 45-50.
