Video: Minister Roban Hosts Hamper/Toy Drive

December 15, 2017

Deputy Premier and Minister of Transport & Regulatory Affairs Walter Roban is celebrating 10 years as an elected MP for Pembroke East, and with the help of party members and supporters, is holding events this weekend to give back to the community.

Speaking earlier today, Mr Roban told Bernews, “The team is now in here putting together the items that are going to be a part of our hamper and toy drive, which started today at 8.00am.

“The first period of collection is from 8.00am to 12 noon, and the next period of collection will be this evening from 6.00pm to 9.00pm, so anyone who wants to come out this evening to donate and contribute anything to our annual hamper drive and toy drive, they may bring items from 6.00pm to 9.00pm this evening.”

“We’re so grateful for the outreach and for the gratitude that’s already been shown. Hampers have been already put together for persons and we have been given a large donation of children’s clothes, which we’re going to make available to those in need in the area.

“So things are going well; it always turns out great in the end, and we’ll be distributing the hampers tomorrow morning from 8.00am until 12 noon.

“We look forward and we welcome anybody who wants to come to donate time, to donate items, or to give a financial contribution, because we do sometimes buy items to make up our boxes.

“Anybody who wants to donate something – time, energy, funds – we’re happy to have them here with us.”
