Motorcyclist In ICU After Crash In Sandys
A 51-year-old motorcyclist was injured after “striking a roadside boulder” on Somerset Road on Friday evening, the police have confirmed.
A police spokesperson said, “Around 9:40pm Friday, January 26th police and first responders were dispatched to a reported single vehicle motorcycle crash along Somerset Road in Sandys parish, near the junction with Morgan Hill.
“It appears that the rider, believed to be a 51-year-old Devonshire man, was injured after striking a roadside boulder.
“He was transported to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital via ambulance for treatment and admitted to the Intensive Care Unit. An update on his condition will be provided in due course.
“Inquiries continue and any witnesses are asked to contact the main police telephone number 295-0011.”
