Student Mascot Design Contest For Track Meet

January 29, 2018

The Bermuda National Athletics Association [BNAA] is holding a “Design the Mascot” competition for the Bermuda Invitational Permit Meet, which is set to take place on May 11.

BNAA President Donna Raynor said, “The Bermuda National Athletics Association will be launching a ‘Design the Mascot’ competition for the Bermuda Invitational Permit Meet [BIPM] throughout all schools. The BIPM will take place Friday May 11th and we want to feature the mascot at this event.

“This event features international professional athletes and our own local professional athletes including Tre Houston [Olympian], Dage Minors [KPMG Front Street Mile winner], Sakari Famous [Carifta medalist] plus more. Our own para-athlete Jessica Lewis plus fellow para-athletes will also be competing.

“We are looking for something colorful, fun and representative of our Bermuda culture. Our intention is to use the mascot for all of our international events, especially when we have the Carifta Games in Bermuda in 2020.

“An award will be presented to the student who designs the winning mascot and the school who submits the most entrants. We would like the students to have fun with this and come up with something very creative.

“Our deadline for all of the designs to be submitted will be Friday February 16th at 5.00pm. The designs can be sent to bnaa@logic.bm or dropped off at the BNAA office, which is located on Burnaby Hill in Cedar Parkade [opposite side of the bus terminal].

“If you have any questions or comments, please send to BNAA email or call the office from Tuesday to Thursday between the hours of 9.00am and 11.00am.”
