Photos/Video: Military Aircraft Landing At Airport

February 28, 2018

A total of eight US Marine Corps V22 Osprey military aircraft landed at the LF Wade International Airport this afternoon [Feb 28]. It is not unusual for military aircraft to stop off in Bermuda while en-route to other destinations.

The 6-minute live video replay is below:

In describing the plane, the US Air Force website says, “The CV-22 Osprey is a tiltrotor aircraft that combines the vertical takeoff, hover and vertical landing qualities of a helicopter with the long-range, fuel efficiency and speed characteristics of a turboprop aircraft. Its mission is to conduct long-range infiltration, exfiltration and resupply missions for special operations forces.”

Awesome footage Bermews thanks. There is a lot of press detailing reliability issues with this particular aircraft, would be interested to hear the pilots opinion.

    • Jim K says:

Safe. Take it from me, I fly them and am familiar with how often they crash, which is extremely rarely. Don’t believe the press. A family friend lives on your island and pointed these out to me.
